Since opening that first Shanghai location, we have expanded across the city, including venues in the hippest and most dynamic neighborhoods and building complexes. The second two blue frogs opened in 2004 — one on Tongren Road near the Nanjing West Road commercial district and another in Pudong's suburban Jinqiao district. Both venues quickly proved to be magnets for a cosmopolitan mix of customers searching for a friendly "local".
Shanghai's Western suburbs got their own blue frog bar & grill in 2005, when blue frog Hongmei opened with the same casual atmosphere, good Western food and drink — and this time, with a lil' frog area just for kids. Another blue frog at Super Brand Mall, in Pudong's Lujiazui financial district, opened in June 2006. The sixth blue frog opened at the Daning Life Hub in November 2006; and finally, a seventh blue frog opened in the hip Xujiahui district. A new frog opened in the famous Shanghai World Financial Center in September 2009. The newest frog opened May 2011 at Kerry Parkside in Pudong.
Moving beyond Shanghai, blue frog made its way up to Beijing in 2008 opening our first venue in the Village at Sanlitun and has since branched out to You Town in 2011.

No matter where they’re located, all blue frogs are visually appealing and share certain characteristics: light wood and cool sea-blue tiles contrasted with warm colors and vibrant textures, long bars that beckon patrons to pull up a stool, attractive display areas for blue frog's extensive liquor collection and inviting outdoor areas that welcome blue frog guests to sit, relax, and escape the day. But, like sibilings, each space is unique, defined by its neighborhood and customers.
blue frog’s signature light wood walls create texture when contrasted with the smooth walls bathed in a warmth of colors. The bright blue tiles used as accenting shapes and textures add a splash of color. All these elements create a high-energy environment ready for good friends and good times.
An endless bar in dark wood beckons all patrons to come and drink. Recessed shelving in the light wood walls offer attractive display areas for blue frog’s extensive liquor collection. The shelving is used as a primary design element in the blue frog bars, combining functionality and form. Outdoor dining and drinking welcome blue frog guests to sit and relax, with comfortable seating and pleasant greenery.
Each blue frog venue adapts to its particular neighborhood and client mix, but all strive to establish a sophisticated and friendly atmosphere and a casual hipness. The combination of interior design, menu development, service, and marketing elements work together to express the blue frog message.

Good food and drink are at the heart of the blue frog experience — we’re a casual, relaxed kind of place, but we take our food and drink very seriously.
For brunch, lunch, and dinner, blue frog serves the classics of Western cuisine, with strong North American flavors and influences. Our inspiration is the great home cooking that we grew up with, made fresh everyday.We make everything from scratch and serve it hot from the kitchen in generous portions.
brunch
Start the weekends off right with a blue frog brunch. One of our brunch cocktails is a surefire cure for the morning blues — try a blue frog Kir or one of our great mix-your-own Bloody Mary Kits.
Then, choose from one of our Blue Plate Specials or a wide variety of breakfast entrees, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, pastas, and burgers. Brunch favorites include the Big Blue Breakfast for hungry hombres (eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, pancakes), Eggs Benedict & Eggs Florentine, omelets, a stack of pancakes (with our homemade Cointreau syrup), and for those with big appetites, Grilled Steak & Eggs.

Begin with our made-from-scratch soups, and then perhaps a Frog Caesar — with romaine lettuce and our very own Caesar dressing topped with Parmesan shavings and garlic bread, it’s a meal in itself. Our snacks and appetizers are fun food to share, with Spicy Chicken Wings, Bruchetta, Nachos, Curly Fries, and more.
Our sandwiches are creative and classic, and served on a choice of homemade breads — Smoked Turkey Panini, Beef Pastrami, blue frog Club, the Cuban Sandwich and others. And we do great wraps, such as Smoked Turkey and Waldorf Chicken. There are hearty pasta dishes, and a selection of Asian Rice & Noodles including Beef & Broccoli and Shanghai Fried Noodles. Delicious dinner entrees include our famous blue frog BBQ Pork Ribs, Salmon Steak, and our tender & juicy Char-Grilled Steaks.
And we're famous for our burgers, from the classic blue frog burger — the one that got us started and remains a favorite — to the Montana BBQ Burger, with onion rings, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and BBQ sauce. We also have a wide selection of other burgers, including the Aussie, the Blue Cheese, the Mexican, and the list continues to grow.

Everybody loves dessert, especially when they’re freshly-baked like our Chocolate Brownie, served warm with fudge sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, creamy Cheesecake, Apple Crumble, and our Chocolate Cake.
